Target intelligence / Profile preview
SLC35F3 antisense RNA 1 (SLC35F3-AS1) is a human long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed antisense to the SLC35F3 gene locus. Unlike its coding pair SLC35F3 (a thiamine transporter that is associated with cardiovascular conditions and thiamine metabolism), SLC35F3-AS1 is a non-protein-coding transcript and lacks established molecular or therapeutic roles. To date, its expression, functional significance, and involvement in normal physiology or disease remain uncharacterized in major lncRNA and gene databases. If you require information about SLC35F3 (the protein-coding thiamine transporter), it is a transporter implicated in beriberi and hypertension, but SLC35F3-AS1 is distinct and should not be conflated with the coding transporter gene.
