SLC47A1 pseudogene 2 is a non-coding pseudogene related to the solute carrier family 47 member 1 (SLC47A1), but it is not known to produce a functional protein or play any physiological, pharmacological, or therapeutic role. Its nomenclature is derived from its homology to SLC47A1, a multidrug and toxin extrusion transporter, but SLC47A1P2 itself is not a transporter, enzyme, receptor, nor considered a drug target. It should not be confused with SLC47A1 (solute carrier family 47 member 1, also known as multidrug and toxin extrusion protein 1, MATE1), which is a well-characterized transporter involved in drug efflux. All therapeutic, pharmacological, and disease relevance belong to SLC47A1, not SLC47A1P2. There is no evidence in curated databases or literature for biological functions, disease association, drug interactions, or use as a biomarker for SLC47A1P2. SLC47A1P2 is genomically related to SLC47A1 but carries mutations, deletions, or other changes so it cannot produce a functional protein.
