SLC7A10 antisense RNA 1 (SLC7A10-AS1) is a putative long noncoding antisense RNA overlapping or oriented opposite to the SLC7A10 gene, which encodes a sodium-independent small neutral amino acid transporter (Asc-1). Unlike the SLC7A10 transporter, which plays a confirmed role in glycinergic neurotransmission and adipocyte metabolism[1][2][3], there is no evidence that SLC7A10-AS1 encodes a functional protein or is directly implicated in human disease or pharmacological intervention. Its function, if any, is presumed to be regulatory at the RNA level, but there are no well-established studies demonstrating a specific biological or disease-modifying role.
