SLC9A3R1 antisense RNA 1 (SLC9A3R1-AS1) is a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed antisense to the SLC9A3R1 gene, which encodes a regulatory protein for the sodium-hydrogen antiporter 3[7][10]. SLC9A3R1-AS1 does not encode a protein and is classified as a noncoding RNA. Emerging functional studies suggest that SLC9A3R1-AS1 can inhibit the migration of keratinocytes, indicating a regulatory role in cellular migration and possibly in wound healing and epithelial dynamics[2][3]. Its precise mechanisms and broader biological effects remain under investigation. Currently, SLC9A3R1-AS1 is not considered a direct therapeutic target, nor are drugs known to act on it, but it may represent a candidate for future biomarker or therapeutic target development in relevant disease contexts[2][3][10].
