The transcript is likely subject to nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) and does not produce a functional protein product[1][2][5]. Therefore, SLX1A-SULT1A3 itself is not a protein or drug target, though SULT1A3 as a separate gene encodes a legitimate drug-metabolizing enzyme.
