Target intelligence / Profile preview
SMAD3 divergent transcript (SMAD3-DT) is a long non-coding RNA that is transcribed in the vicinity of the SMAD3 gene, often in the opposite (divergent) direction. Like many lncRNAs, SMAD3-DT is not translated into a protein, and its precise biological roles remain uncertain. Divergent transcripts often participate in regulating the expression of their overlapping or neighboring genes by mechanisms that may include chromatin remodeling, RNA-RNA interactions, or recruitment of transcriptional complexes. There is currently no evidence that SMAD3-DT acts as a therapeutic target, nor is it directly implicated in disease or drug action in any major clinical or pharmacological database.
