Overview

Small Cajal body specific RNA 11 (SCARNA11) is a non-coding small nucleolar RNA (snoRNA) that localizes to Cajal bodies, subnuclear structures involved in the post-transcriptional modification of spliceosomal small nuclear RNAs (snRNAs)[1]. The gene resides on chromosome 12 at location 8,750,105-8,750,236 (forward strand)[1]. SCARNA11 is annotated as a member of the small cajal body-specific RNAs, specialized in guiding chemical modifications of snRNAs required for proper splicing of pre-mRNA[1]. No therapeutic targeting, disease association, or pharmacological interactions have been reported for SCARNA11 in the biomedical literature. This target is a non-coding RNA and thus is not considered a therapeutic target in the conventional sense of drug discovery (such as receptor, enzyme, transporter). No pharmacological, clinical, or disease-associated relevance is described for SCARNA11 in current resources[1].
