Target intelligence / Profile preview
Small cysteine and glycine repeat-containing protein 7 (SCYGR7) is a member of the keratin-associated protein (KRTAP) family. It is a structural protein found in the hair cortex, where it embeds and cross-links with hair keratin intermediate filaments via disulfide bonds, contributing to formation of a rigid, resilient hair shaft. The matrix proteins in which SCYGR7 is found include high-sulfur and high-glycine-tyrosine keratins.
