Overview
The small hydrophobic (SH) glycoprotein ectodomain is the extracellular portion of the SH protein, a minor surface protein of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). It modulates host immune responses, inhibits TNF-α signaling, and may be involved in apoptosis regulation. The ectodomain sequence, NKLCEYNVFHNKTFELPRARVNT (for RSV-A), is highly conserved and used in vaccine development to elicit specific antibody responses.
