Small integral membrane protein 13 (SMIM13) is a protein encoded by the SMIM13 gene in humans and orthologous genes in other species (e.g., mice, zebrafish)[1][3][4][12][14]. The protein consists of 91 amino acids and is predicted to be a single-pass integral membrane protein located in the cell membrane. It belongs to the protein family of unknown function DUF4750. As of now, the function of SMIM13 remains uncharacterized, with no direct evidence supporting its involvement in specific molecular functions, biological processes, or human diseases. There are no known disease associations, drug interactions, or biomarker roles described for this protein to date[4][6][11][12][14].
