Small nuclear ribonucleoprotein-associated protein B (SNRPB) is a highly conserved nuclear protein and a core component of spliceosomal small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs), including U1, U2, U4/U6, and U5 particles essential for pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotic cells[1][2]. It is also involved in the U7 snRNP complex for histone pre-mRNA 3'-end processing and is known to be a common autoantigen in systemic lupus erythematosus. Mutations are implicated in several congenital syndromes[1][2].
