Small nuclear ribonucleoprotein D2 pseudogene 2 (SNRPD2P2) represents a pseudogene related to the functional gene small nuclear ribonucleoprotein D2 (SNRPD2). The SNRPD2 gene encodes a core component of the spliceosome complex responsible for pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotic cells. However, SNRPD2P2, as a pseudogene (indicated by the 'P2' suffix), does not code for a functional protein product and is not considered a therapeutic or pharmacological target. Pseudogenes like SNRPD2P2 may be transcribed but generally do not have established biological function, known disease association, or relevance as drug targets.
