Small nuclear ribonucleoprotein D2 pseudogene 2 (SNRPD2P2) represents a pseudogene related to the functional gene small nuclear ribonucleoprotein D2 (SNRPD2). The SNRPD2 gene encodes a core component of the spliceosome complex responsible for pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotic cells. However, SNRPD2P2, as a pseudogene (indicated by the 'P2' suffix), does not code for a functional protein product and is not considered a therapeutic or pharmacological target. Pseudogenes like SNRPD2P2 may be transcribed but generally do not have established biological function, known disease association, or relevance as drug targets. There is no evidence that SNRPD2P2 has any biological or therapeutic relevance. Pseudogenes are not used as drug targets, nor do they encode receptors, enzymes, or classical target proteins. There are no known aliases, mechanisms of action, drug interactions, biomarker roles, or safety concerns for SNRPD2P2. This clarifies the distinction from the functional SNRPD2 gene, which is a well-studied spliceosomal protein.
