Overview

Small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide C pseudogene 10 (SNRPCP10) is a pseudogene that shares sequence similarity with the coding gene for small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide C, a component of the spliceosome. As a pseudogene, SNRPCP10 is generally not transcribed or translated into functional protein, nor does it serve as a pharmacological target[1][5]. The vast majority of pseudogenes, including SNRPCP10, are not known to participate in drug targeting, cell signaling, or disease pathology[1][5]. No reported function, disease association, or biomarker status for SNRPCP10 exists. While some pseudogenes have been implicated as regulatory noncoding RNAs (ceRNAs) or as sources of small RNAs with biological functions, this is not universally the case, and no evidence was found in current sources to suggest that SNRPCP10 has such a role[5]. Other related pseudogenes (like SNRPFP1) have been studied for possible non-coding RNA roles in cancer, but SNRPCP10 is not among these[2]. SNRPCP10 should not be classified as a conventional drug target, and the entry may be considered incorrect or inappropriate for inclusion in structured therapeutic target databases[1].
