It shares sequence similarity with the functional small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide C gene but does not produce a functional protein product. Pseudogenes like SNRPCP6 arise via duplication or retrotransposition events and typically accumulate mutations that disrupt their coding potential. SNRPCP6 is not associated with any known therapeutic use, disease role, drug interactions, or molecular pathway and does not serve as a target for pharmacological agents[1][3]. Note: Pseudogenes, by definition, are usually not considered therapeutic targets unless unique evidence demonstrates a regulatory or pathological role, which has not been demonstrated for SNRPCP6[3].
