Small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide F pseudogene 4 (SNRPFP4) is a processed pseudogene mapped to human chromosome 12. Pseudogenes are non-functional DNA sequences derived from functional genes, typically lacking protein-coding potential. SNRPFP4 is related to the functional gene SNRPF, which encodes a protein involved in spliceosomal snRNP assembly and pre-mRNA splicing, but SNRPFP4 itself does not encode an active protein or partake in cellular or disease pathways, and it is not recognized as a drug target, receptor, enzyme, or transporter[5][11].
