Target intelligence / Profile preview
Small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide G pseudogene 1 (SNRPGP1) is a genomic sequence related to the *SNRPG* gene but classified as a pseudogene. Unlike *SNRPG*, which encodes a protein essential for the core spliceosome complex and implicated in cancer biology, SNRPGP1 is not known to produce a functional protein and has not been identified as relevant to therapeutic targeting, disease biology, or clinical biomarkers[2]. Pseudogenes are typically noncoding remnants of ancestral genes and usually lack biological activity unless specifically shown to have regulatory roles, which is not the case for SNRPGP1 in the current literature.
