Small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide G pseudogene 6 (SNRPGP6) is annotated as a pseudogene derived from the gene encoding small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide G[5][8]. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but typically nonfunctional due to mutations or lack of regulatory elements necessary for expression. SNRPGP6 is located on chromosome 10 and, as a pseudogene, is not expected to produce a functional protein or have a direct biological or therapeutic role. There is no evidence that SNRPGP6 acts as a therapeutic target, disease biomarker, or drug-interacting gene. Its presence is instead of interest for genomic annotation and evolutionary studies, and not as a molecular target for therapy[5].
