Small nucleolar RNA host gene 29 (SNHG29) is a long non-coding RNA primarily located in the nucleolus, predicted to be involved in RNA processing. It acts in cancer biology as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA), modulating gene expression by sponging tumor-suppressive microRNAs and impacting the p53/p21 pathway, DNA damage response, and therapeutic resistance (notably breast cancer chemoresistance). SNHG29 is associated with susceptibility to glioma, rheumatoid arthritis, and potentially other cancers, and is under investigation as a biomarker for tumor progression and malignancy stratification.
