Overview

Small nucleolar RNA SNORD11 (SNORD11; LOC124900371; ENSG00000238819) is a non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 15 (15:46,351,662-46,351,746, reverse strand, GRCh38)[1][5]. SNORD11 belongs to the C/D box class of snoRNAs, a group involved in the chemical modification of other RNA molecules, mainly 2'-O-methylation of ribosomal RNA. This gene does not encode a protein and is not recognized as a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or similar pharmacological entity. Due to its classification as a snoRNA, its primary biological function is guiding the methylation of target RNAs in the nucleolus, essential for ribosome biogenesis and RNA stability. There is currently no evidence linking SNORD11 directly to disease mechanisms, drug interaction, or utility as a biomarker.
