Small nucleolar RNA SNORD66 (also referred to as HBII-142 or LOC124900230) is a non-coding RNA belonging to the C/D box class of small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs). SNORD66 guides the 2'-O-methylation of specific sites in target RNAs, often rRNA or snRNA, which is important for the post-transcriptional modification and maturation of ribosomal RNA within the nucleolus. It is not a protein, receptor, or therapeutic target, but has been studied as a potential RNA biomarker in some cancer types. SNORD66 is not currently implicated as a direct therapeutic target, nor are there any known small molecule drugs or biologics targeting this RNA.
