Small nucleolar RNA SNORD88 is a member of the C/D box class of snoRNAs, which are short, non-coding RNA molecules involved in guiding site-specific 2'-O-methylation of substrate RNAs such as ribosomal RNAs. Like most snoRNAs, SNORD88 is not translated into a protein and acts as a guide for chemical modification of other RNA molecules within the nucleolus[7][10].
