Target intelligence / Profile preview
SMARCAL1 antisense RNA 1 (SMARCAL1-AS1) is likely a presumed or predicted non-coding RNA transcribed from the opposite DNA strand of the SMARCAL1 locus. There are no peer-reviewed studies or reputable database entries describing its molecular structure, function, or significance as a protein, therapeutic target, or biomarker. In contrast, the protein-coding SMARCAL1 gene encodes an annealing helicase involved in DNA replication fork maintenance and is linked to Schimke immunoosseous dysplasia. As of September 2025, SMARCAL1-AS1 is not considered a validated or characterized molecular target.
