SNCAIP antisense RNA 1 (SNCAIP-AS1)

Target
SNCAIP-AS1
Molecular classification
Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), Antisense RNA
01

Overview

SNCAIP antisense RNA 1 (SNCAIP-AS1) is presumed to be an antisense long non-coding RNA transcribed from the SNCAIP (synuclein, alpha interacting protein, encoding synphilin-1) locus. However, authoritative databases and the biomedical literature do not provide evidence for a characterized antisense RNA named SNCAIP-AS1 in humans[4]. SNCAIP-AS1 is not an established or widely recognized transcript. In contrast, SNCA-AS1 (SNCA antisense RNA 1), which is an antisense lncRNA of the SNCA (alpha-synuclein) gene, has been characterized in detail, showing regulatory effects on SNCA gene expression and modulation of neuronal and synaptic biology[2][3][5]. There is no high-confidence evidence that SNCAIP-AS1 exists as a distinct, functionally validated RNA gene or therapeutic target[4]. Key points: - There is no conclusive confirmation of SNCAIP-AS1 as an established transcript or functional molecule in primary sources or authoritative databases[4]. - The most closely related and studied molecule is SNCA-AS1, which regulates the SNCA gene, not SNCAIP[2][3][5]. - Therefore, SNCAIP-AS1 is currently best classified as an incorrect or unvalidated target name. If your intended target was the antisense lncRNA to the SNCA gene (SNCA-AS1), please clarify for accurate information.
