SNRK antisense RNA 1 (SNRK-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene located on chromosome 3, which acts as a natural antisense transcript relative to the SNRK gene[5][7]. Antisense RNAs like SNRK-AS1 typically function by regulating gene expression at the levels of transcription, RNA stability, or translation through direct base-pairing with sense transcripts[1][2][6]. These molecules modulate various biological processes, including epigenetic regulation such as DNA methylation and histone modification, but SNRK-AS1 itself is not recognized as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or canonical therapeutic target[5][7]. There is currently no evidence for direct disease association, involvement in pathogenesis, or known drug interactions for SNRK-AS1 in the literature reviewed[5][7].
