Overview

SNRPA1 divergent transcript (SNRPA1-DT) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene transcribed from a region divergent to the protein-coding SNRPA1 gene. As a lncRNA, SNRPA1-DT is not translated into a protein and its functions, if any, are not well characterized. There are currently no reports linking SNRPA1-DT to specific disease roles, drug interactions, or known mechanisms of biological significance. It is distinct from SNRPA1 (small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide A'), which is a protein-coding gene involved in RNA splicing and has relevance in cancer, but SNRPA1-DT itself is not a recognized therapeutic or diagnostic target. No evidence of misspelling or incorrect identification, but it should not be confused with the protein-coding SNRPA1, which has defined roles in splicing and carcinogenesis.
