Target intelligence / Profile preview
Solute carrier family 25 member 5 pseudogene 4 (SLC25A5P4) is a processed pseudogene located on chromosome 5 and is a retrocopy of the protein-coding SLC25A5 gene (encoding the mitochondrial adenine nucleotide translocator 2). SLC25A5P4 lacks the necessary sequence to encode a functional protein. Pseudogenes like SLC25A5P4 may occasionally be transcribed and could have a regulatory role at the RNA level; however, no specific functional, clinical, or therapeutic relevance is currently attributed to SLC25A5P4. As a pseudogene, it is not considered a therapeutic target and does not interact with known drugs.
