Target intelligence / Profile preview
Solute carrier family 25 member 5 pseudogene 7 (SLC25A5P7) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome, sharing sequence similarity with the mitochondrial adenine nucleotide translocator gene SLC25A5[1][3]. Unlike functional members of the solute carrier family, pseudogenes like SLC25A5P7 do not encode active transporters or proteins and generally lack biological activity. Mounting evidence suggests some pseudogenes can play regulatory roles, such as miRNA sponging or gene expression modulation, particularly in cancer contexts[2]; however, there are no reports implicating SLC25A5P7 in such functions, disease mechanisms, or therapeutic strategies.
