Target intelligence / Profile preview
Prostein, also known as P501S or SLC45A3, is a prostate-specific membrane protein highly specific for both benign and malignant prostatic epithelial cells. It is used in pathology to identify tissue of prostatic origin. While not a direct drug target, its expression is androgen-responsive, making it relevant to understanding prostate cancer progression and therapy response. It is predominantly localized in the Golgi complex.
