Somatostatin receptor subtype 3 (SSTR3)

Target
SSTR3
Molecular classification
G protein-coupled receptor, GPCR, Receptor
01

Overview

Somatostatin receptor subtype 3 (SSTR3) is a class A G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that mediates the inhibitory effects of somatostatin on hormone secretion. It is highly expressed in the brain and pancreatic islets and plays roles in neuroendocrine signaling and suppression of basal growth hormone synthesis in pituitary tumors.
