Sorafenib resistance-associated long non-coding RNA in renal cell carcinoma (lncRNA-SRLR) is a long non-coding RNA that is upregulated in intrinsically sorafenib-resistant renal cell carcinoma (RCC) tissues and cell lines. Mechanistically, lncRNA-SRLR binds directly to NF-κB, promoting the transcription of interleukin-6 (IL-6), which subsequently activates STAT3 signaling, fostering resistance to the multikinase inhibitor sorafenib. Knockdown of lncRNA-SRLR sensitizes resistant RCC cells to sorafenib, whereas overexpression induces resistance in sensitive cells. High levels of lncRNA-SRLR correlate clinically with poor response to sorafenib therapy, establishing its dual role as a predictive biomarker and a potential therapeutic target for overcoming drug resistance in RCC.
