Target intelligence / Profile preview
"Sorting nexin 18 pseudogene" designates one of several non-coding sequences (pseudogenes) in the human genome that are homologous to the functional sorting nexin 18 (SNX18) gene. Pseudogenes are usually remnants of genes that have lost their ability to encode proteins due to mutations or deletions and thus do not produce functional SNX18 protein. There is no evidence that this pseudogene is expressed as a protein or has any established physiological or disease relevance. Information about molecular functions, pathways, disease implication, or pharmacological targeting applies only to the protein-coding SNX18 gene, not to its pseudogenes[9][6].
