Target intelligence / Profile preview
"Space maintenance" refers to the dental procedure or clinical principle of preserving the space left by prematurely lost primary teeth—most commonly molars—to prevent unwanted shifts in remaining teeth that could impede the normal eruption and alignment of permanent teeth. This is generally accomplished using dental appliances, such as band and loop space maintainers or other devices that physically hold space in the dental arch. It is not a molecular, genetic, or pharmacological entity, nor is it a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or structurally druggable target[7].
