Preclinical studies suggest that synthetic or stabilized analogues may have therapeutic potential in diseases where chronic inflammation is pathogenic—such as periodontitis, cardiovascular diseases, autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus erythematosus, diabetes mellitus types 1 and 2, metabolic syndrome-related conditions including obesity-linked complications, asthma/allergic diseases, psoriasis/skin disorders as well as neurodegenerative syndromes like Alzheimer’s disease[3][4].
