Target intelligence / Profile preview
CD52g is a glycoform of the CD52 molecule specifically expressed in the male reproductive tract and abundantly present on the surface of mature human sperm cells. Its unique glycan structure serves as an epitope for certain monoclonal antibodies and is involved in semen clot formation/liquefaction and protection from complement-mediated lysis. It is a target for immunocontraceptive strategies.
Monoclonal antibodies targeting CD52g cause sperm agglutination and immobilization, preventing fertilization.
