Overview

Spermatogenesis-associated protein 31E1 (SPATA31E1) is a human protein encoded by the SPATA31E1 gene, which is primarily predicted to play a role in cell differentiation and spermatogenesis. The gene is located on chromosome 9 and encodes a relatively large, membrane-associated protein. There is currently no evidence that SPATA31E1 is a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or traditional therapeutic target, nor are there known associated drugs or biomarker roles. While its definitive biological function is not fully characterized, some data suggest a possible link to reproductive processes and, in rare circumstances, to neurodegenerative disease risk [1][4][9][10].
