Spermatogenesis-associated protein 32 (SPATA32) is a protein encoding gene primarily expressed in the testis, where it is strongly enriched at both mRNA and protein levels[3][6][7]. The protein is predicted to enable actin binding activity and is implicated in the process of spermatogenesis, specifically in the perinuclear region of the cytoplasm of germ cells such as spermatogonia, spermatocytes, and round spermatids[1][3][7]. There is no current evidence that SPATA32 is a therapeutic target or interacts with any drugs. Mutations in SPATA32's chromosomal region have been associated with certain non-syndromic intellectual disabilities, but its established biological role is in male germ cell development rather than direct disease causation[3][6]. To date, there are no reports of clinical biomarkers, drug interactions, or significant therapeutic safety concerns related to this molecule.
