SPIN4 antisense RNA 1 (SPIN4-AS1)

Target
SPIN4-AS1
Molecular classification
Other (antisense long non-coding RNA)
01

Overview

SPIN4 antisense RNA 1 is a long non-coding RNA transcribed antisense to the SPIN4 locus and annotated in genome databases. There is currently no published data on its protein product, direct biological functions, disease relevance, or drug interactions. The gene is catalogued in genome annotation resources (GeneCards, NCBI Gene)[7][10] but lacks functional characterization in scientific literature. While some antisense lncRNAs have regulatory functions or disease associations[8], there is no evidence for SPIN4-AS1 itself being considered a therapeutic target, biomarker, or having clinical significance. Caution is advised to avoid confusion with similarly named but functionally characterized antisense RNAs like SPINT1-AS1[2][6]. There is a recurring confusion with "SPINT1-AS1," which is a well-characterized long non-coding RNA associated with cancer prognosis and progression[2][6]. SPIN4-AS1 does not share this biological function or clinical relevance based on current data.
