Spliced neoantigen expression refers to the generation and presentation of novel peptide antigens (neoantigens) that arise from aberrant or alternative RNA splicing events in tumor cells. These neoantigens are not present in normal tissues, making them highly tumor-specific targets for immune recognition, particularly by T cells. They can elicit robust T-cell responses and have been shown to induce both CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocyte activity and B-cell mediated immunity. Spliced neoantigens are an emerging target class for personalized cancer vaccines and adoptive cell therapies such as CAR-T cells due to their high specificity for malignant tissue over normal tissue.
