Target intelligence / Profile preview
SPNS2 antisense RNA 1 (SPNS2-AS1) is a predicted or annotated long non-coding RNA gene whose sequence is antisense to the protein-coding gene SPNS2. It is classified as an lncRNA, which may have regulatory functions on SPNS2 gene expression or general chromatin state, but no specific biological role, interaction with drugs, clinical biomarker status, or disease involvement has been robustly described. There is a common confusion in the literature between SPNS2 (a validated sphingosine-1-phosphate transporter and therapeutic target) and SPNS2-AS1. The latter is not a canonical therapeutic target.
None (no pharmacologically validated mechanisms)
