Src family tyrosine-protein kinases (SFKs) are a group of non-receptor protein tyrosine kinases that play crucial roles in regulating cellular processes such as cell morphology, motility, proliferation, survival, gene transcription, immune response, cell adhesion, and cytoskeletal organization. The family includes several members—most notably Src itself (the proto-oncogene c-Src), Yes, Fyn, Fgr (forming the SrcA subfamily), and Lck, Hck, Blk among others. SFK activity is tightly regulated by phosphorylation at specific tyrosine residues within the activation loop and the C-terminal tail.
