Overview

Src tyrosine-protein kinase (Src), also known as proto-oncogene c-Src, is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase encoded by the SRC gene in humans. It is the prototypical member of the Src family kinases (SFKs), which are involved in regulating various cellular processes including growth, differentiation, migration, survival, and cytoskeletal organization. Elevated or dysregulated activity of c-Src has been implicated in cancer progression due to enhanced cell proliferation/migration signals.
