Overview

SRGAP2 antisense RNA 1 (SRGAP2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene located on human chromosome 1, transcribed antisense to *SRGAP2C*. It does not code for a protein. The functional annotation for SRGAP2-AS1 is limited; it is categorized as a lncRNA and overlaps the SRGAP2C gene on the opposite strand[6][7]. While antisense lncRNAs often play roles in regulating the expression of their sense counterparts, there is currently no direct experimental evidence in the cited literature regarding the biological or disease relevance of SRGAP2-AS1. It is thus *not considered a therapeutic target* (such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, etc.) and is not known to be directly implicated in any current disease or as a drug target[6][7].
