Overview

SRGAP3 antisense RNA 3 (SRGAP3-AS3) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene found in humans and located on chromosome 3 (Ensembl: ENSG00000227929)[3][6][8]. It is transcribed as an antisense RNA overlapping or adjacent to the coding gene SRGAP3 (Slit-Robo Rho GTPase activating protein 3), but unlike SRGAP3, SRGAP3-AS3 is not believed to encode a protein[3][6][9]. Its function remains uncharacterized in published studies, and there is no evidence that it acts as a therapeutic target or is directly implicated in disease pathways[3][5][6][8][9]. No drugs or inhibitors are currently known or reported to interact with this RNA, nor is it described as a biomarker or a source of specific therapeutic or safety concerns in the literature[5][6][9]. While the protein-coding SRGAP3 gene has roles in neuronal signaling and neurodevelopment[1], the biological function of its antisense RNA counterpart, SRGAP3-AS3, remains unclear and is a subject for further research[5][9].
