It is widely listed in gene annotation databases, such as Ensembl and GeneCards, with alternative names like SRP14-AS1 and SRP14 antisense RNA1 (head to head). Its expression has been reported in regions including the cervical spinal cord and amygdala, and there is evidence for a role within the immune system, particularly in the lung. Functionally, SRP14-DT does not encode a protein and is distinct from the protein-coding gene SRP14.
