Overview

SRSF3 pseudogene 5 (SRSF3P5) is a pseudogene related in sequence to the serine/arginine-rich splicing factor 3 (SRSF3) gene. Pseudogenes, by definition, are classified as non-functional genomic elements that do not encode a biologically active protein. There is no evidence that SRSF3P5 acts as a therapeutic target, nor is there research describing its role in cellular pathways, disease, or as a biomarker. In contrast, the functional gene SRSF3 is a member of the serine/arginine-rich protein family and is an important regulator of RNA splicing, cell cycle, and is implicated in cancer. However, this functional information pertains to SRSF3, not SRSF3P5. The use of SRSF3P5 as a biological or therapeutic target is not supported, and its inclusion in target lists is likely erroneous.
