Overview

SRXN1 pseudogene 2 (SRXN1P2) is a genomic pseudogene derived from the Sulfiredoxin 1 (SRXN1) gene. Unlike its parent gene SRXN1, which encodes an oxidoreductase involved in the reduction of over-oxidized peroxiredoxins and resistance to oxidative stress[1][2], SRXN1P2 does not encode a functional protein and is not implicated in disease or therapeutic applications. There is no evidence supporting a physiological role for SRXN1P2, and it is not included in clinical or molecular target databases. If the intent was to refer to the bona fide gene *Sulfiredoxin 1* (SRXN1, not SRXN1P2), this gene is an established antioxidant enzyme and is implicated in oxidative stress responses and several disease contexts, including cancer and inflammatory conditions[1][2][3]. However, *SRXN1 pseudogene 2* is not a target in any therapeutic or biomarker context. If you require information on the functional gene (SRXN1), please clarify your request.
