Overview

SSX family pseudogene 10 is a member of the SSX gene family pseudogenes, located on chromosome 6 (whereas most other SSX family members and pseudogenes are clustered on the X chromosome)[3]. It is predicted from genomic sequence analyses and database annotations, but there is no evidence it produces a functional protein, nor is there data on expression in either normal or malignant human tissues. In contrast to the protein-coding SSX genes (such as SSX1, SSX2, which are cancer-testis antigens expressed aberrantly in cancers), SSX family pseudogene 10 does not have any demonstrated role in tumorigenesis, cellular function, or therapeutic intervention[3]. It is referenced in genetic and genomic studies simply as a pseudogene and is not a protein-coding target. Key Points: - SSX family pseudogene 10 is a pseudogene, not a functional protein[3]. - No expression or disease association described in the literature[3]. - Not a therapeutic, diagnostic, or functional molecular target in drug development or patient selection[3]. - Only mentioned as part of the genomic SSX family[3]. Any intent to study or use SSXP10 as a human disease or drug target would be based on error or misunderstanding of its annotated pseudogene status rather than scientific evidence.
