ST3GAL3 Antisense RNA 1 (ST3GAL3-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene found antisense to the protein-coding ST3GAL3 gene, which encodes a sialyltransferase. While many antisense lncRNAs can regulate the expression of adjacent protein-coding genes, there are currently no experimentally verified functions, disease associations, or clinical applications for ST3GAL3-AS1. Its molecular classification is “long non-coding RNA”, and it is cataloged in human genomic and transcriptomic databases as a non-coding RNA with no known protein product or direct link to disease pathogenesis or therapy[7]. If further information or new functional evidence emerges in updated research, future molecular classifications, biological functions, or disease roles may be revised.
