Target intelligence / Profile preview
STAG3 cohesin complex component like 4 (STAG3L4, also known as STAG3L4P, STAG3-like protein 4, LINC01372) is annotated as a pseudogene closely related to STAG3, a gene encoding a subunit of the cohesin complex important for chromosome segregation and DNA repair[4]. Unlike STAG3, which is an active protein-coding gene involved in meiosis and disease risk, STAG3L4 does not encode a functional protein and shows features of a long noncoding RNA (LINC01372) or pseudogene. There is currently no evidence supporting its role as a molecular therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or transporter. It has not been associated with any drugs, mechanisms of drug action, known biomarkers, therapeutic challenges, or established molecular functions in biological or disease processes[4].
