Target intelligence / Profile preview
Stanniocalcin-1 (STC1) is a secreted, homodimeric glycoprotein hormone that participates in a wide range of physiological and pathological processes. It regulates renal/intestinal calcium and phosphate transport, promotes cell cycle progression, protects against hypoxic/ischemic damage, and is critical for transendothelial migration of inflammatory cells. STC1 expression is altered across several cancers and is implicated in implantation and lactation processes.
